Summary edit
DescriptionThe Junction of Short Dyke and the River Yare - geograph.org.uk - 1734929.jpg |
English: The Junction of Short Dyke and the River Yare Short Dyke goes off to the left to connect the River Yare to Rockland Broad and the village of Rockland St Mary. This river before the railways was a main transport artery in Norfolk, it is always much easier to travel by boat.
However the railway coming meant a rundown in freight but an upsurge in people using the river for leisure. Now the Norfolk Broads is a much loved national park (although officially it isn't fully a national park). |
