English: The M4, Baydon This is the highest point on the motorway linking South Wales and London and is at an altitude of approximately 750 feet. This stretch was opened in 1971. Cuttings and embankments even out the undulations on top of the downs. The descent west of here to Swindon is more marked than the gradual descent in this direction towards Reading. |
