Summary edit
DescriptionThe Mansion Earl Shilton - geograph.org.uk - 159322.jpg |
English: The Mansion Earl Shilton A house built to a pretensious scale in the 19th century. It was originally a single house but it was split into two houses some years ago. Having viewed the house when it was "For Sale" about 10 years ago one was left with a lasting impression of the grandeur of the centre and right sections. The left section must have been the servants' quarters and externally appear to be to a smaller scale. The little room at the top of the central tower was a delightful hidey hole with a clear view down the High Street towards Leicester. One wondered whether a servant sat up there waiting for the first sight of the Master of the Mansion returning from his labours! |
