Summary edit
DescriptionThe NTT windscreen (eso9003b).jpg |
English: During periods of high winds, the ESO New Technology Telescope is protected by a windscreen. It is elevated in front of the telescope to an appropriate height so that it does not impede the observations. In this way wind buffeting of the telescope structure is avoided and the NTT remains stable, even during wind speeds up to 70 km/h. (ESO Press Release eso9003: NTT image C05). |
