English: The Norfolk Ski Club - main slope. The Norfolk Ski Club is located on the site of a former lime pit east of Whitlingham Lane. A (blocked) tunnel under Whitlingham Lane > 1671132 immediately west of the ski centre dates from the times when the water level was such that wherries were able to come right up the river to fetch lime which was wheeled to them in bogeys. The Club was founded in 1972 and presently has a membership of over 4,000. It is open all year round, offering a range of lessons and sessions for skiers and snow-boarders, catering for all ability levels. http://www.norfolkski.com/about |
