| Description |
English: The Old Co-op Store, East Street I remember when this was still a Co-op shop: probably the 1960s but maybe as late as the 70s. The ground floor sold groceries and there were stairs to the first floor but I don't recall ever going up there. Now the boarded up window of the Salvation Army shop and the empty recruitment agency office combine with the neglected upper storey to give a image of urban decay. We can only hope that the next tenants will breathe some life back into a building that was designed to make you feel special when you walked into it. |
