Summary edit

Description
English: The Orepool Inn and Motel A strong reference to the industrial past of the Forest of Dean, the Orepool Inn is in the centre of what was an important mining area. The iron-ore mines here were once among the largest in the country and large deposits were known as 'pools of ore' - hence the unusual, if not unique name. The abandoned underground workings in the area are vast, one being so large that the roof cannot be hit by throwing up a stone.
