WALTER EMERSON FAISON. BRO. WALTER E. FAISON. WALTER E. Faison, who died at Wilmington, N. C., Septem-ber 22nd, was born in Clinton, N. C, forty-two years ago.He entered Trinity College, North Carolina, in 1872 and was in-itiated into the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, having for his clubmates such men as Walter H. Page, now Associate Editor of theAtlantic Monthly, Hon. P. Mc L. Simmons, lately a Member ofCongress of the U. S., B. P. Long, Ex-Worthy Grand Keeper ofExchequer of this fraternity, and others of similar high charac-1ter and attainments. Leaving Trinity, he became a student atthe Virginia Military Institute, from which he graduated in 1878 ;as First Captain. He spent the next three years at the LawSchool of the University of Virginia, where he stood eminent ina large class by reason of his solid acquirements. After practicing law both in Norfolk, Va., and at his homein Clinton, N. C, he entered the service of the State Departmentin 1886. The law examination in which Mr. Paison
