of the blame for having failedto meet the approval of Mr. Hughes in the matter of indicatingthat certain brothers are honorary members. We believe, how-ever, we have stated a sufficient justification of the catalogue com-mittees action in this respect, if any is necessary. While wehave never investigated the question, we are of the opinion thatno distinction of the kind in question wTas made in the data ac-cessible to that committee. That no such distinction was made,in order that deception might be practiced or cheap and easyglory won, is utterly false. The proposition that the editor of the Palm is the lonelyadvocate in Greekdom of the obsolete custom of initiating hon-orary members, is, we believe, hardly justified by what we havesaid on this question. In fact, we do not believe that Mr. Hugheswrites with excellent discrimination or crystal clearness, andcommend to him the careful reading of our views, as previouslyexpressed, and which he has hardly changed in any material re-spect
