| Description |
English: The Pleasure Gardens, Bridge Street, Portadown This is the entrance to the park, known locally as The Pleasure Gardens, that runs alongside the River Bann. It has seen many changes over the years. Part of it is still used by the Portadown Outdoor Bowling Club. A children's play area is at the rear of the Bowling club. The building in the picture is the side view of the old Regal Cinema and is now a snooker club with a pet supplies shop at the front of the building in Bridge Street. Somewhere below this site lie the remains of an old air-raid shelter used during the second world war. It could be seen when excavating works were being carried out for the reconstruction of the new Bann Bridge in 2005/6. |
