Summary edit

Description
English: The Priory Tavern Originally the Artichoke, and shown as such on the 1868 Godfrey edition map of Orpington. Its history would appear to go back further, in that it is listed in "PIGOT'S LONDON AND PROVINCIAL DIRECTORY 1828-29 Pubs and Brewers of Kent" - see http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mrawson/pubsdir2.html. It later became Ye Olde Blacksmiths Arms. After being closed for a while, it has now been refurbished and reopened in November 2007 as The Priory Tavern.
