English: The River Bann at Katesbridge (1) The River Bann is still in its infancy by the time it reaches Katesbridge. This is the view downstream. The bridge is said to derive its name from one Kate McKay who, the story goes, owned the house where the workmen lodged during the building the bridge in the 18th century. |
