English: The Salmon leap on the Dam at Sion Mills. The little building you can see at the far end of the wall was known as Jerry Maitland's cabin. Jerry would guard the fish as they entered the deep water of the dam as they headed for the spawning grounds. A summer playground for the children of the village for years. "And there could I marvel my days away....." |
