Summary edit

Description
English: The Sharpham "volcano". These boulders on the river bank are reputedly the remains of an extinct volcano, probably a tough dolerite intrusion within the volcanic lavas which make the hilly country traversed by the River Dart between Totnes and Dittisham. The main body of the outcrop, which is clearly marked on the 1:25000 OS map, rises about 100 feet immediately to the right. The sign in 533822 can just be seen to the left of centre.
