Summary edit
DescriptionThe Short Siberia range at Bisley - geograph.org.uk - 58987.jpg |
English: The Short Siberia range at Bisley. Remote from the other ranges at Bisley are the two Siberia ranges, Short and Long. At one time it was actually necessary to leave the main camp and head down Queens Road to reach these ranges and it is assumed that the name came from the idea that being sent out to these ranges was like being sent to Siberia. The short one is now even shorter - at one time it was 300 yards long but a bridleway (from which this picture was taken) crossed the range. Now it is securely fenced and rather than divert the bridleway the range has been shortened to 200 yards. Looking WNW. |
