Summary edit

Description
English: Halftone, Divided back, Agra, 13.90 x 8.85 cm. [Original caption] The Taj from across the river. One must cross the river to see the beautiful view of the Imperial Mausoleum balanced by the Mosque and Hall of red sandstone which set it off. The Taj, whose marble walls and dome and minaret are reflected in the water, was commenced in 1630 A.D. by the Emperor Shah Jahan to receive the body of his beloved Mumtaz-i-Mahal (Pride of the Palace).
