Description
English: On 22nd August 2015 UK Railtours operated a tour from London Paddington to Barry Island. On arrival at Barry (Network Rail station) the train then ran onto the Barry Tourist Railway, terminating at the BTR's Barry Island station. Motive power was top and tail DB Schenker Class 66s, though because the 66s were too heavy to operate over the Barry Island Viaduct, this part of the journey would be hauled by a Barry Tourist Railway Class 73 locomotive.

The train is seen on its outward journey passing Cogan Junction, on the outskirts of Cardiff and Penarth, where the Penarth branch leaves the main Vale of Glamorgan line. 66113 leads the train. 66116 brings up the rear. The River Ely is seen on the right.

The name 'Woodhams' in the railtour title is probably self explanatory for many rail enthusiasts, but Dai Woodham owned the famous scrapyard in Barry during the years following the end of steam in the UK in the 1960s. Of the 297 locos which went there for scrapping, 213 were subsequently saved for preservation.

The railtour's return journey to London include a detour via the freight only Machen branch.
