Text Appearing Before Image:
CLYDESDALE MARE DARLING 12TH AND FOAL. Color, bay; foaled 1878; got by Lochleven (1186), son of Cham-pion (1089); dam Darling 6th by Scotlands Pride; 2d dam Darling3d by Netherby (1494). Bred and owned by Moffat Bros., PawPaw, 111. The foal is by Johnnie Lad 1445. Engraved after a sketchfrom life by Burk, taken when the mare was four years and the foalsix months old. They belong to the same Darling family as Mr.Davidsons Darling Prince, on page 159—a family that justly standsin very high favor among Clydesdale breeders. ,164)
