ed, traversed by aniridescent bar of black. The female is mainly ofa somewhat grayish-brown hue, with a salmonbreast. The Brown Red Game presents incoloring a glittering combination of black andgold. The hackle of the male is red, shadingto lemon, and striped lightly with black; the white wings slightly marked with chestnut, anda white tail. The Duck-wing Games, so named becausethe metallic blue-black bar across the wingrivals in beauty that upon the wing of theMallard drake, are of two varieties, the Silverand the Golden. The females are much alike,except that the Silver is somewhat the lighter inshade. The Silver male has a silvery hackle,saddle, and back, a glossy black breast, a sil-very wing, with its distinctive blue-black bar,and a black tail. The Golden male is like theSilver in the arrangement of color, but thesilvery white gives place to a light yellow orstraw color upon the neck and saddle, and to arich copper hue upon the back and wing-bows.
