English: The churchyard at Twyford parish church. A view of the graveyard to the north of the church of St Mary the Virgin, taken from beneath the ancient clipped yew tree. It has been claimed that the yew is over 1000 years old, although a more conservative estimate of 450 years was given in 1988 by the Yew Tree Conservation Foundation. This would make it contemporary with the rebuilding of the Norman church in 1402. [Information from http://www.twyfordpc.hants.gov.uk/ ] |
