| Description |
English: The edge of the Fens To the right is flat ground, now drained (hence the ditch) but previously swamp. To the left is the beginnings of the rolling chalk landscape of south Cambridgeshire. Fleam Dyke, a Saxon defensive construction, extends south-east from here. When the fens were a swamp they would have been hard to cross anyway, making it hard to circumvent the dyke. The track is also part of the Harcamlow Way. |
