Summary edit

Description
English: The first glimpse of Old Red Sandstone The Devonian Old Red Sandstone is older than the Carboniferous Limestone which lies unconformably upon it. Old Red Sandstone is exposed at the surface only in a narrow belt extending inland for a few miles in the Traeth Lligwy to Traeth Dulas area. It is well over a 1,000 feet thick. Much of it was formed of deposits eroded from an adjacent landmass laid down in shallow waters and deltas under semi-arid conditions.
