Summary edit

Description
English: The further most point from the sea in the British Isles. According to the good people at Ordnance Survey, the place that gets the dubious title of “The further most point from the sea in the British Isles” is at grid reference SK 257144.

This lies just east of Church Flatts Farm, approximately 1 mile south-east of Coton in the Elms, Derbyshire.

(This is not to be confused with the point which is at the centre of the UK, which uses the centre of gravity method to find the point at which a cardboard cut-out of Great Britain would balance on a pinhead - its centre of gravity). The BBC make reference to it at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/derbyshire/3090539.stm
