English: The grave of the Day family through whom the Susan Day Residential Home came into being.. South Lodge was the family home of the Day family for 50 years. In 1947, Mr T Fairchild Day gave the house to the Ilfracombe Old Peoples' Welfare Committee as a permanent memorial to his mother, Susan Day. See: 855195
