in groins beneath thetowers meet in large circles ; those over the windows in small bosses : of thelatter, that in the North tower is sculptured with the Abbey Arms ; that in theSouth tower with an abbreviated word in ancient characters. The Bosses in the Aisles exhibit a singular variety of objects, thoughnot in every instance clearly distinguishable, from the broken or crumblystate of the sculpture.
