OF ARCHITECTURE. 14^ TEMPLE III. Plates.Of Concord at Rome. THIS kind of temple is called Amphifroftyhs^that is, a double Proftyle, having pillars bothDetore and behind it. It is alfo a Tetraftyle, asivell as a Proftyle. This example is of the Com-pofite order, for the fake of diverfifying the plates;ind is taken from the ruins of the temple of Con-ord ftili to be feen at Rome. It is called Com-pofite, from being compofed of the Ionic and Corin-;hian orders, having the volutes and eggs of theformer, and the plinth of the latter. TEMP LE 142 OF ARCHITECttTRE. TEMPLE IV. Plate 6.Of virtue and hcmur at Rome. THIS fourth kind of temple is called Pfriptera^ from having pillars all around it. Itan Hexajlyle^ that is, having fix pillirs in front:has eleven on each fide, including thofe at thcorners. The example Vicruvius gives of itthe temple of virtue and honour built by Mariusand adorned with a portico all around it by Mutiuthe architcdl. St. Auguftin mentions this templeand tells us, that
