are sometimes won byGreyhounds that are not remarkable forgreat pace, but are clever workers, and haveplenty of stamina, the fastest dogs are thosethat get more often to the end of the stake.The points that are allowed for the runup may be one, two, or three, accordingto the, length of the lead, and the conditions upon which it is obtained. The run up which is followed by a turn or wrench may give a Greyhound five points to startwith. The go-bye is valued at two points,or three if it is on the outer side. The turn at one point is when the hare,being pressed by the leading dogs, turns ata right angle from the line that she isrunning. The wrench, valued at half apoint, is when the hare only bends from theline that is being taken. If, however, thehare alters its course without being pressednothing is allowed. The trip, for whichone point is allowed, is an unsuccessfuleffort to kill, the hare being thrown off itslegs or flecked by the Greyhound in theattempt. Then there is the kill, value
