d be made toget rid of them. It has been asserted thatthe use of goats milk is a preventativeagainst worms, but I am afraid that verylittle reliance can be placed on this state-ment. Constantly physicking puppies or growndogs is a mistake made by many Mastiffowners, and still more so by their kennel-men. With proper feeding, grooming, ex-ercise, and cleanliness, Mastiffs can be keptin good condition without resort to medicine, the use of which should be strictly pro-hibited unless there is real need for it.Mastiffs kept under such conditions arefar more likely to prove successful studdogs and brood bitches than those to whichdeleterious drugs are constantly being given.Although, as I have said, puppies shouldnot be tied up, they should be accustomedto a collar and to be led when young. Adog is far less likely to be nervous in theshow ring if he has been led about whenyoung than one who has a collar and chainon for the first time only a few hours beforehe is sent off to some exhibition.
