Port Huron, Mich.—Port Huron is a city of 25,000 population,and enjoys the distinction, as described in a preceding paragraph,of being situated on two of the greatest waterways in theUnited States—Lake Huron and the St. Clair River, having overseven miles of lake and river frontage. The water supply is thepurest in the world; the freshness of the air is proverbial, and thecleanliness that prevails has well earned for Port Huron the nameof the spotless city. It is easy to reach Port Huron from alldirections. From Ohio, Kentucky and the Southern States itonly requires a days journey, while from Missouri and the South-western States excellent transportation facilities are afforded tomake the trip as enjoyable as possible. Steamboat lines and rail-roads radiate from Port Huron to all points of the compass.
