Summary edit

Description
English: The river Hull north of Tickton, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
The photograph looks south to Hull Bridge which carries the A1039.

The raised river banks make excellent footpaths and give the river extra capacity for times of high rainfall. The river is still tidal at this point.

Pleasure craft can be seen on the river, but Barmston Drain is hidden by the western river bank, and is at a lower height above sea level than the tidal river Hull until they join in square TA1029.

The modern road bridge carries traffic between Beverley and Brandesburton.
