Description |
This page (located between page 472 and 473) is an extract of the following work: The Natural History of Animals: The Animal Life of the World in its Various Aspects and Relations, by J. R. Ainsworth Davis, M. A., Trinity College Cambridge, Professor in the University of Wales, and Professor of Zoology and Geology in University College, Aberystwyth, Hal-vol. VIII, London, The Gresham Publishing Company, 1904. The photograph shown in this page was taken, at the latest, before 1904. It depicts a skeletal mount of a Megatherium in the British Museum of Natural History, in London. This mount has been removed from the place seen in the photograph, but it still can be seen in the same museum, more than a hundred years later, here, in this other photograph of 2006.
