An artistic creation that resembles a scientific instrument

Summary edit

Description
English: English: This is a 'IO Actometer', not a real scientific instrument, but an artistic creation designed to resemble a real instrument. It was created by Worcester-based artist Carrie Crane. She collects what she calls "found materials" which she sometimes builds into her creations, which resemble scientific instruments in a surrealist way to combine science and art. Her recent show at Harvard University was entitled 'Collection of Scientific Instruments'. Crane studied geography at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and earned her Master of Fine Arts from Lesley University College of Arts and Design in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In the past, she combined landscapes with cartography. For further information: http://www.carriecrane.com/
