Title
English: Thomas W. Prosch, Seattle, ca. 1890
Description
English:

Thomas W. Prosch learned the printing trade from his father, Charles Prosch, who started a newspaper in the pioneer town of Steilacoom in 1858. In 1879 Thomas and a partner purchased The Intelligencer of Seattle, which two years later merged with The Post to form The Post-Intelligencer. He also served as postmaster, census taker, and member of the Seattle School Board. After retirement from the newspaper business, Prosch devoted most of his time to historical research and writings. On March 30, 1915 Thomas and his wife Virginia died tragically in an auto accident at the Riverton Bridge.
