| Description |
English: (1 in a multiple picture set) Someone spent a lot of money to build the cement block Thomspon Motel. This end was obviously living quarters for the owner. The motel was fairly large, and appears to have been built in the 50s when the highway ran through the town. I stand in the weed covered parking lot and think of all the adventurous families who stopped here on their road trip. How many states did they represent? What were their stories. How excited the family from Iowa must have been to be staying in a 'Wild West' town with tall buttes in few to the north. |
