Summary edit

Description
English: Along the Thomson Avenue Bridge over Sunnyside Yard in the Long Island City section of Queens, New York City, a connecting spur to and from the lower level of the Queensboro Bridge can be found. The spur from the bridge has westbound and eastbound turning ramps at the end, and the spur to the bridge (which is in this photograph), also has turning ramps from both eastbound and westbound Thomson Avenue. For some reason the east ramp to the spur has been closed for well over a decade, however as you can see by this mechanical overhead sign, this wasn't always the case. This was taken from the sidewalk along the south side of the bridge.
