Three Kings Restaurant, Ottawa - Gong Bao Ji Ding This appeared on the menu as Kung Paw Chicken (宫保鸡丁). The chicken was generally, but not exclusively, cut in cubes. and there were cashews instead of peanuts. There were no chilli pieces in dish but there were some flecks of dried chilli in the sauce. The dish was quite spicy hot but had no scorched chilli flavour and there was no sweetness to the sauce at all. Lots of veggies were included for bulk . There were chunks of celery, carrot, and onion, baby corn cob pieces and canned water chestnut slices. There is also green and red pepper added along with sliced button mushrooms. The mushrooms actually complemented the dish very nicely. Not bad but not great. Rating: 3 out of 5. |
