| Description |
English: Three memorials: stone, seat, and new Bocase Tree Three memorials on the bridleway near Bocase Farm. The engraving on the stone tablet is difficult to make out, but the word 'BOCASE' is visible at the very bottom. The seat has no inscription other than the date '2005'. The small oak tree to the right of the seat has a brass plaque at its base reading 'This oak tree was planted' .... '1987' .... 'to replace the Bocase Tree and celebrate' .... 're-establishing the bridleway'. The site is where the Bocase document was read out, giving forest rights to this part of the ancient Rockingham Forest (Thank you to John at http://www.instahedge.co.uk/ for this info.) |
