Summary
editDescriptionThree species of heather, near Buddabrake - geograph.org.uk - 699474.jpg |
English: Three species of heather, near Buddabrake Ling or Heather (Calluna vulgaris), Bell Heather (Erica cinerea) and Cross-leaved Heath (Erica tetralix). Normally these three species are ecologically separated, with Bell Heather on the driest heaths and Cross-leaved Heath in bogs, but in Shetland these distinctions break down. Even so, three species in one photo is unusual. |
