DescriptionThresher Wine Shop, 29 High Street - geograph.org.uk - 1599884.jpg |
English: Thresher Wine Shop, 29 High Street The Thresher shops, along with several other off-licence brands, were part of First Quench Retailing Limited, which went into administration in late 2009. The Stourport business was part of what the Administrators called Phase 1, and was one of the first stores to be closed. It seems only a 100 or so stores are likely to survive as going concerns, leaving around 800 which have either closed or will close before the end of December 2009.
The Stourport store's building dates from around 1800. An opportunist off-licence, called Drinkers World, has put a large poster on one of the windows, directing people to its own store! |
