Description
English: Airborne photograph of Tierra Amarilla Air Force Radar Station, a deactivated cold war relic slowly decaying in Northern New Mexico. This location is on the National Park Service National Register and was once used to provide early warning of an incoming missile attack to the scientists and workers in Los Alamos. A true testament to American resolve during the cold war. This site was deactivated in 1959 and sits quietly as a ghostly reminder of the past.
