Description
English: The image portrays simulated, time-resolved reflectance profiles of light propagation in a turbid semi-infinite medium described in the diffusion approximation. On the left, the reduced scattering coefficient is kept fixed at 10 cm^(-1) and the absorption coefficient on the medium is varied as 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 cm^(-1) for each curve. Conversely on the right, the absorption coefficient is kept fixed at 0.1 cm^(-1) and the reduced scattering coefficient is varied as 10, 15, 20, 25 cm^(-1). Source-detector distance is 2 cm and refractive index of the medium is n = 1.54.
