Bjerkan, Sverre, Værdalsøren 1893 - 1899, Levanger 1899 - 1938.

F. i Stenkjær 30.08.1865 - d. i Levanger 03.10.1939, g. m. Theodora Larsen. Realartium 1883, studerte kjemi og realfag i 2 år, var elev i 2 år ved Den kgl. kunst- og haandv. skole, Christiania. Ble ansatt som lærer ved middelskolen i Stenkjær høsten 1887. Begynte så i 1891 i fotograflære hos Lars Bach s.st., og var der et par år. Startet eget firma på Værdalsøren høsten 1893 og var der i 6 år. Flyttet høsten 1899 til Levanger hvor han leiet J. M. Wiigs atelier og etablerte seg som fotograf fra 1.8.1900. I 1901 kjøpte han også huset av Wiig. Dette fotograffirmaet var startet ca. 1882/83. I 1910 startet han sammen med to andre kinodrift i Levanger. I 1916 overtok kommunen driften, men Bjerkan fortsatte som den ansvarlige bestyrer til 1938. Fra 1919 til 1935 var han også tegnelærer ved Levanger tekniske aftenskole. Firmaet ble i 1938 overtatt av sønnen Christian Andreas. Negativsamling tilbake til 1893 fra Verdal, Steinkjær og Levanger oppbevares i dag i firmaet.
