Arquiteto Raul Chorão Ramalho (1914-2002), 1955-57 e seguintes, até 1978 A Igreja do Imaculado Coração de Maria, no cruzamento da Rua da Levada com a Estrada dos Marmeleiros é da autoria de Chorão Ramalho (1914-2002), tendo projeto tido início em 1955 e 1957. Apresenta um programa organizacional inovador, propondo alterações na tradicional arquitetura litúrgica através da articulação entre tradição e modernidade, levando a que fosse considerada a 1ª Igreja modernista construída na Madeira. |
