Français : La maison Blanchard (XIIe XVe et XXe siècle) à Martel dans le département français du Lot.

La tour de Mirandol est l'une des tours de la tradition qui confère à Martel son appellation de "ville aux sept tours". Maison noble édifiée vers 1490 par François Faure, seigneur de Mirandol, lieutenant général de la sénéchaussée royale de Martel, sur les ruines de la "Faurie", une maison du XIIe siècle de la famille Faure, Fabri en languedocien, sauvée de la disparition par Louis et Marguerite Blanchard en 1958. La tour de 24 mètres est carrée avec échauguette, salle de guet et une rare clé de voute à ogives sexpartites à liernes et tiercerons.

Louis Blanchard est un philanthrope français du XXe siècle, figure du monde associatif de la sauvegarde du patrimoine du Quercy, scientifique parisien, globe-trotteur, dessinateur et photographe. Son épouse Marguerite née Delvert, originaire de Martel, était historienne de l'art travaillant au musée d'archéologie nationale de Saint Germain en Laye et au Louvre. Ils sont à l’origine du sauvetage patrimonial, du mouvement de rénovation, de la notoriété et de la riche vie associative et culturelle de Martel.

Louis Blanchard fut surnommé "le moine des vieilles pierres" par ses amis Françoise Giroud, Haroun Tazzief et Christiane Desroches-Noblecourt.
