English: Tower, the Church of St John the Baptist, Chirton In 1709 there were but three bells in the tower. Between 12 July and 22 August that year they were taken down and re-cast into five bells, the work being done at Aldbourne by the Corrs foundry. In 1959 a sixth bell was added. The church was consecrated in 1170. |
