Summary edit
DescriptionTower of David, Jerusalem (3621702997).jpg |
The tower is actually part of the Ottoman fortification system around the Old City. There were, however, three defensive towers standing on the same site from at least the Hasmonean period, and the foundations of those towers are integrated into the later construction. The Tower stands just south of the Jaffa Gate, on the Western side of Old Jerusalem. |
