Description

After the North London Railway opened in Islington, cutting through the Mildmay Estate, in 1850 the land around was developed with agreeable terraced villas, with the church of SS Jude and Paul opening in 1855 of Kentish Ragstone. The Vicarage, also in same stone is at the end of the terrace. The tracks on the left will eventually become the North London Line , formerly the goods line, and the nearer pair of lines will form the London Overground line through Dalston Junction to Highbury and Islington. The other end of the train is approximately where the former Mildmay Park station was located before closure in 1934.

The Broad Street link only opened in 1865, connecting the city with the North London Line via Dalston Junction.
