FERGUSON 153 complete absence of vagina, uterus, left tube, and ovary; arudimentary tube and ovary was present on the right side. A circular incision was made in the mucous membranesurrounding the occluded vaginal outlet. The fingers werepushed up into the pelvis toward the rudimentary tube andovary. The peritoneum covering the dome of this raw tunnelwas not interfered with. The dome was stitched close tothe rudimentary tube and ovary. The tunnel was packedwith iodoform gauze and the abdomen closed. The gauzewas removed in eight days and renewed. Various meanswere used to prevent contraction, but to no avail; at theend of two weeks contraction commenced. The only thinggained by the operation was an accurate knowledge of thecongenital deficiencies in her pelvis and a small pouch fora vagina. The second operation was performed May 23, 1906.Epit
