Français : La commune de Karimama constitue la pointe septentrionale de notre pays le Bénin. Elle partage les 2/3 de sa superficie avec le parc W et est séparée de l’État voisin par le fleuve Niger, 2ème plus grand fleuve de l’Afrique.
L'île aux oiseaux est un affluent du fleuve Niger et partie intégrante du site RAMSAR 1668 Zone humide d’importance internationale particulièrement comme habitat des oiseaux d'eau . sur ce cours d'eau plusieurs communautés principalement musulmanes composer des ethnies (Djermas, peuhl, Dendi, Haoussa) interagissent pour de meilleures conditions de vie. Leurs principales moyennes de déplacement sont des pirogues dont lequel ils se servent pour les échanges commerciaux .English: The commune of Karimama constitutes the northern tip of our country, Benin. It shares 2/3 of its surface with the W park and is separated from the neighboring state by the Niger river, the 2nd largest river in Africa.
Bird Island is a tributary of the Niger River and an integral part of the RAMSAR 1668 wetland site of international importance, particularly as a habitat for waterbirds. on this river, several mainly Muslim communities comprising ethnic groups (Djermas, Peuhl, Dendi, Hausa) interact for better living conditions. Their main means of movement are canoes which they use for trade. |
