English: Tree and Trig on Whitwell Hill Ordnance Survey column and tree on the top of Whitwell Hill near Masham. This 146m hilltop represents one of the higher points of the magnesian limestone ridge which runs N-S through this part of North Yorkshire. Despite the modest altitude, mthere are fine views over Masham to the Pennines in the west, and across the Vale of Mowbray to the east. |
